Zoë Absey for Fargo Park Board Commissioner

[Fargo, ND] - Zoë Absey is announcing her candidacy for the office of Fargo Park Board Commissioner. Absey graduated from Fargo South High School, received a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from the University of North Dakota (Grand Forks, ND), and a Master of Social Work degree from Boston University. She is currently the Community Initiatives Manager at the Great Plains Food Bank.

Because Absey had been involved in activities like swimming lessons, summer softball, and youth tennis, it has instilled in her an appreciation for the role of parks and recreation in community building. Her experiences on the City of Fargo's Human Rights Commission and Sustainability and Resiliency Committee have further highlighted the significance of open and public green spaces and activities in fostering a sense of belonging and cohesion within communities. With this background, Absey is eager to contribute her insights and dedication to enhancing access to parks and recreational opportunities, in doing so promoting inclusivity and community well-being in Fargo.
